As any touring band knows, a lot of time is spent in transit: schlepping your own gear, cramped inside of a van, finding creative ways to sleep. It’s all part of paying your dues until you make it to the big time and can upgrade to business and travel in your own bus. Either way, finding ways to stay entertained with various forms of art-making was key. The first photo is an example of Mark shooting from the hip, which was his preferred way to take a photo. Notice his hand in the table lamp’s reflection. Mugging at airports and train stations was also a favorite band pastime.
